Peaks and Paddles Lake District National Park Experience with Graythwaite Adventure

  • Location Ulverston
  • Price from £75.00

Highlights

Graythwaite Adventure welcomes you to the exclusive Graythwaite Estate to enjoy the two attractions that the Lake District is famous for: our mountains and our lakes. During the morning we’ll take you on a guided Estate walk where you’ll experience the varied terrain including Thomas Mawson’s six-acre formal gardens which he designed in the Arts and Crafts style in 1889. Leaving behind the Hall, dating from the 16th century, we’ll walk thorough parkland, working forestry and past many of the workers cottages towards the high point of our walk with unrivalled views down Windermere towards Bowness Bay. The descent takes us past the boathouses, idyllic cottages, and Georgian manor house to Grubbins Point where you will enjoy an Estate picnic on the lake shore.
After lunch we will take to the water and journey by paddle, experiencing canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards; the choice is yours. Whilst the morning’s view from up high is an awe-inspiring sight the view from the water gives you an entirely different perspective from which to enjoy this UNESCO world heritage site.
• Exclusive access to a family-owned estate on the shores of Lake Windermere • Leave technology behind and immerse yourself in the environment of a World Heritage Site • Get back to nature and learn survival skills used by ancient civilisations
