Highlights
Burley is the start of this tour, a circular ride in the heart of The New Forest. Heading out of the village, we find the gravel tracks that will take us into Forest and towards the Reptile Centre – on a warm sunny day, we might see adders basking in the sun here. Next is the Portuguese Fireplace which is what remains of a hutted camp used by a Portuguese army unit that aided the local labour force in producing timber during the First World War. Heading back the tour goes behind the Deer Sanctuary where we might see deer if we are lucky ! Burley is a small village with shops and pubs, so a perfect spot to finish the ride and spoil yourself with for a pint or ice cream after the tour. We can also recommend bike hire from Burley.
