Your personal guide Steve will lead you through the heart of this stunning ancient New Forest.
The Dragon’s Ride – Half-Day Guided Cycle Adventure
Dare to ride where the wild things roam.
Our adventure begins at the Green Dragon in Brook, where your journey into the New Forest begins. From the moment we set off, quiet country lanes wind their way to Bramshaw, a hidden hamlet and the gateway to wilder lands beyond.
Leaving the tarmac behind, we take to the gravel trails, twisting through ancient woodland and open heath. Keep your eyes peeled – the Deer Sanctuary awaits, a peaceful haven where herds of fallow deer move silently through the trees. From here, we press deeper into the Forest, following waymarked tracks that lead us to Bolderwood Arboretum Drive and on to the mysterious New Forest Reptile Centre, home to adders, lizards, and frogs hiding among the ferns.
The trail then carries us past the haunting Portuguese Fireplace, a relic of wartime endurance, before plunging once more into the Forest’s heart. Emerging into the timeless village of Minstead, we follow a bridleway back towards Brook, where the Green Dragon welcomes us home.
And if you’ve still got fire in your legs and the Dragon’s roar in your ears, we can push the adventure further – extending the ride for those brave enough to chase it.
This adventure is perfect for individuals and small groups.
