Exmoor Pony Project

About Exmoor Pony Project

Nick and Dawn Westcott are moorland and lowland farmers in the Porlock Vale, on the National Trust Holnicote Estate in Exmoor National Park. Nick's family has lived and farmed in the Exmoor parishes for over 500 years. Dawn is author of Wild Pony Whispering, Wild Stallion Whispering and Wild Herd Whispering - captivating real-life stories about Exmoor ponies, published in hardback. Nick and Dawn are co-founders of the Exmoor Pony Project, which helps to safeguard, promote and find opportunities for Exmoor ponies, one of the UK's oldest, and endangered, native pony breeds. They are also co-founders of Exmoor Compost - a very well-matured Multi-Purpose Compost made from the Exmoor pony herd's manure, which helps to support and safeguard the Exmoor Pony Project.
